Why morfosia?
Meaning of Morfosia
Morfosia was born from the idea of transformation.
Working with surplus leather to create something beautiful reminded me of a butterfly’s metamorphosis; a gradual transformation from a caterpillar to a stunning creature.
This concept resonated deeply with our approach to crafting bags. Inspired by this, I turned to Euskera, a language from the north of Spain, spoken occasionally by my family from the region. Due to its enigmatic origins, the language had always some allure to me. In Euskera, metamorphosis translates to metamorfosia. I was drawn in by the -morfosia, which sounded like the name of a captivating girl: the kind of girl our products are designed for. And so, Morfosia was chosen!

The Opportunity
In 2023, I was given a large quantity of surplus leather from a renowned, trendy Parisian brand. They had stored it away in their headquarters, destined for disposal. Committed to circularity, I saw an opportunity to give it new life.
For months, I sketched out ideas, searched for the right design. Then, inspiration for the perfect bag struck, beginning the journey to the Morfosia of today.

The perfect type of bag was right in front of me all along, my mom’s early 2000s bag with a small front pocket for her Nokia phone. Two decades later, I stumbled upon it and never looked back. Its versatility as a backpack made it my constant companion for any occasion: at work, dinners, dates, beach days, and parties. The old Nokia pocket became the perfect spot for my metro card, a game changer for my on-the-go lifestyle.
I fell in love with its effortless blend of function and style, and I knew anything I created had to embody the same cool, comfortable style.

To create the bag, I needed the best by my side.
I turned to a friend, one of the most talented bag crafters I know, who instantly understood my vision. Together, we brainstormed, sketched and refined over every detail.
After countless late nights and after-work meetings, the Nokia Bag was created.

At Morfosia, we find beauty in what others might overlook. The Amalia Flower Set was born from this philosophy; transforming forgotten leather scraps into something truly special.
Our producer had leftover premium leather from past productions; small yet high-quality pieces waiting for a new purpose. I saw an opportunity to craft something stylish, creative, and versatile.
Inspired by vintage Miu Miu, I sketched, experimented, and refined. I wanted something different; small yet impactful, practical and designed to elevate any look, no matter the occasion. Sketches became prototypes. The first showed promise. The second? It felt just right.
Its sophisticated details, with its intricate layers of petals and delicate studs the Amalia Flower Set is an upcycled statement piece, proof that even the smallest fragments of materials can bloom into something beautiful.
