Production, Materials & Sustainability

Deadstock leather, also known as surplus leather, is genuine, unused leather left over from the fashion industry that would otherwise remain unused or potentially go to waste. At Morfosia, we give these existing materials a second life by transforming them into high-quality leather goods. By working with materials that have already been produced, we reduce waste and avoid creating demand for newly manufactured leather.

Yes! All the leather we use is genuine, unused leather—not synthetic or imitation leather. We select high-quality surplus leather from luxury fashion brands, giving exceptional materials a new life through our designs. “Deadstock” simply means it is surplus material, not second-hand leather. You can find the specific materials used in each design on its product page.

We source our surplus leather from specialist suppliers in Tuscany, Italy. The materials originate from the luxury fashion industry and are selected according to the qualities required for each design.

For every leather purchase, we receive a circularity certificate from our supplier detailing where the farming, tanning, finishing and storage took place. According to the certificates received to date, all four stages took place in Italy.

Because we work with existing surplus materials, colours, finishes and quantities are limited, making every production run unique.

Morfosia is deeply committed to supporting local communities and small businesses.

Our pieces are thoughtfully handcrafted in Barcelona, Spain, by a family-owned atelier.

This collaboration honours the craftsmanship and traditions of the region.

We take pride in our limited-edition production. Since we work exclusively with surplus leather, variations of a product in a specific colour are available only while supplies last. As we cannot continuously source the same type of leather, we encourage our clients to seize the opportunity when they find a product they like in a particular hide or colour.

Sometimes. Because we work with deadstock, each colour exists in limited quantity and once a batch is gone it may not return. Sign up to the newsletter to hear about restocks first.

Returns

You may request a return within 14 days of receiving your order. Items must be unused and returned in their original condition, with all original packaging.

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty, damaged or incorrect. Once we receive and inspect your return, we will email you to confirm whether it meets the return conditions and provide information about your refund.

Refunds are issued to your original payment method within around 14 days of your cancellation notice. We may withhold the refund until we receive the item or evidence that you have sent it back, whichever comes first.

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and clear photographs so we can help.

The 14-day change-of-mind return period does not limit your statutory rights regarding faulty or non-conforming goods. If a fault becomes apparent later, please contact us for assistance.

To arrange a return or enquire about an exchange, email info@morfosia.shop.

For manufacturing defects shown, we will arrange a repair or replacement free of charge.

We do not cover repair costs for normal wear and tear, accidental damage or misuse.

Product & Care

You might be surprised by how much fits inside the Nokia Bag: a phone, cardholder, keys, sunglasses, lip gloss, compact powder, earphones and even a portable charger. It can also fit a lightweight sweater.

You can watch the video on our product pages to see everything that fits inside ;)

Care instructions vary according to the material and finish of each piece. As a general rule, keep your bag dry, store it away from direct sunlight and wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not machine wash it or use alcohol, harsh cleaning products or leather treatments without first checking that they are suitable for its specific finish.

If your bag gets wet, gently blot the moisture with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub it. Allow it to air-dry naturally, away from radiators, hairdryers and direct sunlight.

Genuine leather naturally evolves with use. Depending on the finish, it may soften, develop a patina or show subtle variations over time. These changes are part of the character of a natural material. Patent, metallic, hair-on and embellished finishes may age differently.
