Morfosia’s Favourites: The April Edit

Morfosia’s Favourites: The April Edit

Hi there! Inspired by a new practice we do with our friends, we decided to create this new monthly segment where we share with you our latest recommendations on something new or different we did, we saw, we heard, we experienced. Hope you enjoy it!

Learn more about a loved one's passion

There’s something special about stepping into a part of a loved one’s world. I grew up in Australia, so skiing was never really part of my life. But recently, I had the chance to properly learn, with my partner guiding me through it.

What made it memorable wasn’t just the activity itself, but seeing it through someone else’s eyes. Their excitement, their knowledge and the little details they notice all made me appreciate it on a completely different level. It’s a reminder that the people around you can open you up to new experiences through their passions. Sometimes all it takes is a bit of curiosity and a willingness to say yes.

Going back to a classic alarm

After watching so many reels of @emonthebrain (neuroscientist with really interesting and useful content) on how bad it is for your brain to check your phone first and last thing you do during your day, I decided to follow the advice, and got a classic digital alarm.

Plugging my phone to charge somewhere else (next goal is to charge it outside the bedroom), setting up a single fixed time alarm, and avoiding postponing is a game changer. Firstly because I avoid checking my phone first thing in the morning. Secondly, because in order to postpone it and sleep 30 mins more requires me to press the button 30 times to change the hour/time - so at that point it's easier to just wake up.

Stop and smell the roses… literally

It’s easy to get caught up chasing the bigger picture, but sometimes admiring the small things makes life more beautiful. For instance, whenever I come across beautiful flowers, I try to pause for a moment taking in their colours, their scent and the life they bring to different landscapes. It might sound a little cheesy, but it genuinely brings a smile to my face every time.

Tapas at VRRO Madrid

I cannot express enough how much I recommend VRRO for tapas in Madrid. I went +5 times to the one in Serrano and it's always so damn good. For any locals or whoever is visiting, I feel it's a must. I'm quite strict with croquetas and I can fearlessly say their croquetas game is strong AF. Another favourite is this ensaladilla rusa with tuna tartar (picture below). It has really good pricing so great price/quality ratio.

We’d love to hear what’s in for you right now… whether it’s something small, something new or something you’re rediscovering.

With Love,
