Our Team

Our Team

Welcome to Morfosia! We’re Eva (Founder) and Sofia (Head of Marketing), the team behind the brand. A fun fact about us? Our friendship spans generations: our grandparents are friends, our mothers are friends, and now, here we are, continuing the legacy!

With roots in northern Spain, our shared connection to the region inspires much of what Morfosia stands for. Our brand is a celebration of love - for the places that hold meaning to us, for our planet, for a vision of fashion that harmonises style and sustainability.

Morfosia is deeply committed to supporting local communities and small businesses. Each of our pieces are thoughtfully handcrafted in Barcelona, Spain, by a family-owned and operated business. This collaboration not only ensures exceptional quality but also honours the craftsmanship and traditions of the region.

We make our products only using surplus leather remaining from the luxury fashion industry. Sourced from Paris and Tuscany, we use premium unused leather destined to be disposed. We take pride in transforming the unwanted into something beautiful and new.

Join us on this journey as we redefine what it means to upcycle fashion, proving that style, sustainability, and quality can go hand in hand. Together, let’s create a future where every choice we make contributes to a more beautiful, conscious world.

These photos were taken in San Sebastián, showcasing one of my favourite outfits: a vintage turquoise foulard gifted by my aunt and a timeless skirt I purchased nearly nine years ago in Buenos Aires.

Hello to the person behind the screen! Thank you for taking an interest in our brand. Morfosia is the natural evolution of a lifelong passion of mine: transforming "uncool" garments from my relatives or vintage finds and altering them into something stylish and fresh. Since childhood, I was always taught to take good care of what we had and to avoid overconsumption. As a true fashion enthusiast at heart, I was always inspired to use my creativity to create newness with was was already there.

Born and raised in Buenos Aires, I drew inspiration from my Spanish mother, who fearlessly embraced bold colours and patterns in her wardrobe, without caring about others opinions. Her confidence sparked my love for experimenting with style. But it wasn't until I moved to Paris, a city where I felt deeply inspired and where my creativity flourished.

In Paris, as a vintage lover, I organised a couple of vintage pop ups, which were a lot of fun, but I was still missing the aspect of creating something. I started experimenting with upcycled garments - denim, mesh, you name it - but none of the projects felt like The One.

Fully convinced of working only with ready to wear, it was not until I landed on an internship  that my appetite for leather goods started building up. I was in the Product Marketing area for a luxury fashion label and I became captivated by the intricate details of leather goods; big & tiny buckles, different sized pockets, straps, multiple functions, chains and the various different leather textures and finishings.

Life continued and I joined the team of a small upcycling brand, where I developed new product ideas. My colleagues encouraged me to start my own venture, planting the seed for what would become Morfosia.

Then, one very ordinary day in Paris, an opportunity knocked on my door. Through an Instagram story, I learned that a designer brand had beautiful unused leather they were discarding. Without hesitation, I brought it home! Six months later, inspired by my mother's vintage crossbody bag from the early 2000s, I started developing what would become our signature Nokia bag - and Morfosia was born.

My experience in the fashion industry revealed how sustainability often takes a back seat in decision-making and operation. From that moment on, I made a promise to myself: to continue working in the industry I love, but with a focus on sustainability, proving it is possible to develop stylish and profitable products with sustainability in mind.

At Morfosia, we aim to redefine fashion by celebrating and supporting local craftsmanship, upcycling and creativity. Every piece is designed to treasure and promote a more conscious approach to style. After all, the best way to enjoy life on this planet is by taking care of it and embracing your authentic self - and that's exactly what Morfosia is about.

These photos, taken in Sydney, are of me in one of my all-time favourite outfits: a beautiful piece passed down from my mum, who bought it when she was my age. Wearing her clothing pieces makes me feel like I'm walking in her footsteps.

Hola, Hi, and Ciao! I'm thrilled to join the Morfosia team as the Head of Marketing. Together with our visionary CEO and founder, Eva, we aim to redefine society's perception of upcycled fashion and celebrate individuals' unique personal style, moving away from fleeting micro-trends to timeless fashion. Our mission is to inspire people to invest in a curated, conscious wardrobe that stands the test of time, proving that you can stay fashionable and on-trend while embracing sustainability. Who said we couldn't have both? Morfosia perfectly combines the two = eco-conscious style!

A little bit about me, while I am half Spanish and half Italian, I've lived most of my life in Australia. Growing up immersed in diverse cultures and surrounded by friends and family rich with traditions sparked my curiosity about different ways of life, languages, and ideals. This global outlook shaped my passion for fashion and hope to take better care of our planet.

An unforgettable exchange in Barcelona deepened my appreciation for the power of personal style. I loved discovering how clothing could truly be a canvas for self-expression, reflecting different facets of one's personality and creativity. Observing the contrast between Italian, Australian and Spanish fashion inspired me to develop my own authentic style - one that balances an elevated elegant look, while remaining comfortable, versatile, confident and practical.

In our busy 20s, juggling studies, work, family, friends and travel, versatile and timeless accessories become indispensable. That's why I was drawn to Morfosia's innovative approach. The brand's commitment to creating multifunctional, secure and sustainable products aligns perfectly with my personal values of merging style and purpose.

I'm excited to join Morfosia's journey in reshaping how we view fashion - making it not just an aesthetic choice but a meaningful step toward a more sustainable future. Let's make a difference, one timeless piece at a time!

We hope this gives you a deeper insight into the people behind Morfosia. We're thrilled to have you join us on this journey, one thoughtful creation at a time.

With love,

The Morfosia Team 🦋

International Women's Day: Celebrating Female Founders
To celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD), Morfosia is proud to feature inspiring women who have built their own paths within the fashion industry. International Women’s Day is a global moment to recognise the achievements, resilience and creativity of women around the world. In this blog, we’re celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit of female founders who have turned their passion into thriving brands, including jewellery artisan Laia Ossorio, founder of Laia Ossorio, Laura Tønder, founder and designer of KETTEL  and Josefina Gomez Yiche, co-owner of Studio Vintage. Building a business in fashion is rarely straightforward. It requires courage, persistence and a strong sense of purpose. Through their experiences, these founders share insights into what helped them grow their brands, the mindset that kept them moving forward and advice for women who are considering starting something of their own. Starting a company always involves risk. Yet it can also be deeply rewarding. Our hope is that these reflections and tips from women who have taken that leap will inspire and support you, who are dreaming of doing something similar.   LAIA OSSORIO What mindset or belief helped you most when building your brand? What advice would you give women wanting to start their own? “I believe perseverance and hard work are key to moving forward. Starting a business is tough, especially without a solid financial foundation or a network of contacts. Enthusiasm and desire are paramount; loving what I do and having clear goals are what have kept me going. And if it doesn’t work out, that’s ok: it’s alright to let it go, because knowing when to stop, pivot and pursue another project when something isn’t working is also valid.”  LAURA TØNDER What mindset or belief helped you most when building your brand? What advice would you give women wanting to start their own? “You can only do it if you enjoy it, because you will have to dedicate so many hours to it that you have to be passionate about it. Even if it starts small, and you might be the only one who sees the vision, if you simply enjoy doing it someone else will eventually discover it and see the value in something made with passion and enjoyment.” How important was trusting your gut? "It is everything, many times over and over when I started Kettel Atelier people underestimated the project, and did not think it could grow. But I had a gut feeling that the passion and enthusiasm was there - from my side and our community. We raised and grew from my gut feeling and the trust of them." JOSEFINA GOMEZ YICHE  What mindset or belief helped you most when building your brand? What advice would you give women wanting to start their own? "At the beginning the priority was simply selling and keeping the business running. As we grew and sales became more stable, we gained the luxury of being more selective about what we bring into the store. Now we can focus on sourcing more pieces that are truly special. What I value most about our business is that we get to shape it around our own taste and values. Sustainability is a core belief for us. Vintage clothing is not only more sustainable, it’s often superior in quality, more affordable, and with more character. My advice to women wanting to start their own project would be to focus on finding their voice and what makes their perspective unique." How important was trusting your gut? "Trusting my gut has been very important. At the beginning I had doubts about starting a business with a close friend, but we are two women trying to build something meaningful together, and our friendship is actually one of the strengths of the business. In a 50/50 partnership it’s essential that each person brings different strengths to the table. Knowing your own weaknesses, communicating openly, and being clear about responsibilities makes everything work much better — if you have everything clear you can have lots of fun.I believe it’s very important to follow your intuition. Even if you make mistakes along the way, those can always be fixed. It’s better to follow your gut and learn through experience than to ignore it and end up somewhere you’re not comfortable." Launching a business can feel daunting. There are practical challenges; financial security and navigating risk as well as internal pressures like self-doubt and overthinking. But one of the most powerful lessons shared by the women in this blog is that there is no single ‘right way’ to start a business. The most important thing is finding your own path and trusting your intuition.  Whether you are dreaming about starting your own brand, exploring a new path or supporting women-led businesses, every step contributes to a more inspiring and inclusive future for fashion. A step we hope you feel more excited and maybe a little less apprehensive about now after reading this blog. Let us know what you think!

Behind the Scenes: Autumn Campaign
Last Sunday, we spent the whole day shooting our autumn campaign. It turned out to be one of our favourite shoots yet.  Photographed by Adrián Ramos, the day was all about unveiling our new men’s bags and finding that perfect balance between an editorial lens and effortless, everyday style. Our Argentinian model, Irene, joined us by pure chance, we met the day of our pop-up at one of my favourite coffee spots in Madrid (also run by Argentinians!).  Daniel, who we found on Instagram, couldn’t have been nicer to work with.   We spent the day listening to Chris Stussy, eating nachos, and watching the light shift from midday to dusk through the studio windows, a full but exciting creative Sunday. With the holiday season just around the corner, we can’t help but think… wouldn’t this be the perfect gift for your boyfriend (or that stylish guy friend) who could use a bag that actually looks good and keeps everything in place? We can’t wait to share the full campaign with you soon. What do you think of the men’s version of the bag?

Review of the Amalia Flower
"Whether worn as a hair accessory while out for a morning coffee, or to cinch the waist of a dress worn to dinner, the Amalia Flower is a versatile and stylish addition to any outfit. I’ve danced all day at the Distortion festival, spent long days volunteering at my gallery, and relaxed by the beach, with the flower still looking perfect. It’s become a staple in my Copenhagen wardrobe." - Madeleine Friedlein
